DOC hosts second MARISSA Demonstrator-Workshop
On March 29th 2012 DOC will host the second MARISSA workshop „Offshore applications“. This will be a sequel to a series of events concerning the implementation and active realization of the NMMT (Nationaler Masterplan Maritime Technologien) field of application „Maritime traffic control and safety systems” which was successfully kicked-off in February 2012 at ASTRIUM in Bremen.
Various workshops incl. the demonstration of a submarine vehicle in the adjoining harbour basin will take place in and around the t.i.m.e.Port II (main event) and III (DOC office) premises. Among the presenting companies are ATLAS Elektronik GmbH, SIGNALIS GmbH, ANS (Active Network Systems), Cassidian Communications, EADS-ASTRIUM as well as ISL (institute for marine traffic and logistics). Further members of this network include OHB System, RDE (Rheinmetall Defence Electronics GmbH) and CEON GmbH.
MARISSA Demonstrator-Workshops shall offer a forum for the ongoing exchange and presentation of innovative solutions for operators, institutions, and science and technology development. MARISSA’s main goal is to support and further the dialogue between providers and operators and to initiate development of new products for international markets.
The Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen (Bremeninvest) supports the event series. Approximately 150 participants will be expected.

MARISSA has – among others – already featured and coordinated the lighthouse project “safety within the German Bight” within the NMMT (Nationaler Masterplan Maritime Technologien) in close cooperation with the trade associations GMT, VDMA, VSM and Stiftung Offshore Wind.
